School Lunches
Our school meals are provided by Dolce, offering children a choice of three freshly cooked options each day, all prepared on-site. Parents can pre-order meals up to three weeks in advance using the SchoolGrid system, allowing you to sit down with your child at home and choose meals together. Children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1, and Year 2) are entitled to a free hot meal every day, which is ordered in the same way through SchoolGrid. It's a fantastic opportunity for children to try new foods in a familiar and supportive environment. In addition to lunch, children in Key Stage 1 receive a healthy snack daily, and those under 5 are also provided with a small bottle of milk each day.
We are fully able to cater for special dietary requirements and food allergies. Parents can input this information directly into SchoolGrid, and suitable meal options will be offered based on your child’s needs.
To help us keep your child safe at mealtimes, please ensure that their allergen and dietary information is kept up to date on your SchoolGrid account. Recording this information is the responsibility of parents/carers – the school does not manage this on your behalf. As SchoolGrid operates independently from the school, Dolce kitchen staff rely entirely on the details you provide.
How to update allergen information on SchoolGrid:
- Go to [Food] > [Allergens].
- Tick the relevant boxes.
- Click [Save Changes]. Once saved, SchoolGrid will automatically block any meals containing the allergens you’ve selected, preventing you from pre-ordering unsuitable dishes. You can also view ingredients, carbohydrate counts, and allergens for any meal by going to [Order meals], then selecting a dish.
Additional dietary needs: If your child has an allergy outside of the 14 listed on SchoolGrid or special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, Halal), please contact Dolce Customer Care, who may be able to add a dietary note to your child’s account.
Important: dietary notes do not block meals on the system, so you will need to carefully check recipes and ingredients before placing any orders. Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a meal, free of charge, under the universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) programme.
If you think your child may be entitled to a free school lunch click here for more information or please ask at the school office.
If your child does not have a school meal but is entitled to have one, you can still register as there may be an occasion when your child will require a meal eg. Christmas or a special themed meal to coincide with a school project or special event.
