Welcome

Whether you are browsing this website as a member of the Red Barn Community, prospective parent or as a visitor, we hope that you find it both useful and informative.

Our children tell us that they feel safe at Red Barn and enjoy the teaching and learning. To promote an engaging learning environment, each class chooses their own topic and units of learning are created around their area of interest. Topics such as Crime, Explorers, Animals and Food & Drink to name a few ensure that learning is exciting for our children. Regular trips and visitors ensure that we are able to offer our children first hand experiences where possible which they highly value.

We are fully committed to ensuring our children make good or better progress both academically and socially in our one form entry school. Recent results have proven that our children are making progress at a higher rate than the national average and we believe this is down to our child centred approach to learning. With thorough daily assessment and the teaching of core subjects in small, focused groups, we are able to ensure that all of our learners have the best possible opportunity to succeed in their learning. As a professional and dedicated staff team, we track the progress of each child and will swiftly intervene to target additional support to ensure our high standards of progress are maintained.

We believe that we are promoting a successful learning environment and OFSTED agreed with us, awarding us an ‘Outstanding’ grade in 2018.

A website can offer an insight into our school but a visit paints a fuller picture. Existing and prospective parents can expect a warm welcome from all staff.  If you think that we might be the school for your child or you would like to visit us to ‘capture our ethos’ please contact the school office.

We look forward to meeting you.
