The Department for Education has released new guidance for schools. Whilst this means that some elements of school life will return to ‘pre-Covid’ times, we remain committed to minimising the risk of infection wherever possible.
The School Day
As previously shared in July, the school will now operate on the following timings.
All children will be able to access school between 8.40am and 8.55am via the gate and they will go straight to their classrooms.
All children will be collected by parents and carers from the large playground at the end of their school day. Year R will be collected at 3.15pm, Year 1 and 2 will be collected at 3.20pm with Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 being collected at 3.25pm.
|Year R||Year 1||Year 2||Year 3||Year 4||Year 5KB||Year 6BL||Year 6KL|
Children travelling into school on the Southwick Bus will be arranged into two busloads with two separate departure and arrival times.
In addition, PE kits will need to be worn into school on your child’s allocated PE day.

Staggered exit times
Parents will enter by the top car park gate from Linden Lea. They will access the playground by the gate between the Year 5 and 6 shared area and onto the large playground, where they will collect their children.
Exit from the school playground will be via the wooden gate at the top of the playground and out onto Simpson Close.
We respectfully ask all parents to maintain social distancing at all times whilst also exiting the school premises immediately after collecting children. Parents will need to wait on the netball courts in order to ensure that they are appropriately socially distanced.
Due to the limited space on the playground, it is important that only one adult collects children from school.
