Remote Learning – January 2021
The following link takes you to Red Barn’s Remote Learning Plan.
Google Classroom for Home Learning
We were pleased to be able to offer home learning tasks on our new remote learning platform, Google Classroom. Each week, the home learning tasks will be set from Monday and will need to be completed by the following Sunday please. Parents and children can state they have completed it by pressing the ‘Mark as Done’ button. Parents are also able to upload pictures of the home learning and this is proving popular as the children love to see their home learning efforts displayed on the big screen in the classrooms!
Staff have decided that the most appropriate format of homework, for now, will be a common approach across the school in securing the fundamental skills of phonics, regular reading, spellings and times tables.
The following images show how uploading and submitting work can be completed.
‘Materials’ on Google Classroom
This section on Google Classroom will contain reference materials which we believe will be helpful for parents to support home learning. Over the next few weeks, we will be adding to this section with other resources for you.
Google Classroom for episodes of self-isolation
In the event of a child having to self-isolate with their family, either waiting for a test result or self-isolating as a consequence of a positive test result, staff are able to set learning for completion at home. The first two days’ work has been issued by the Hampshire Local Authority and this will be e-mailed to you. From the third day of isolation, Google Classroom will be used to share the learning activities.
We politely ask for home learning to be completed and returned by 6:00pm.
